Valentines day is right around the corner.... Didn't we just have New Years?  Time flys!  Last year I made valentines cookies with David's mom: blueberries and cream, red chocolate chip, and texas sugar cookies ;).  I want to make some again this year... Maybe even cupcakes!  I'll post another photo when I make some this year too... Can't wait!

Yesterday I made orange chicken with rice and broccoli.  I made the sauce from scratch with orange juice and orange zest.  It was really good!  We thought it was better than Panda Express because the breading was less and more chicken in each piece.  The flavor was really tasty too!  I made the breading with a little bit of corn starch and flour and fried the chicken then added to sauce to marinate.  Delish!  (Check out Chinese Recipes)

Last night I made leftover pheasant enchiladas with avocado cream sauce.  David couldn't get enough!  I added jalapeƱos to the shredded pheasant and to the cream sauce so it was a little spicy.    I just love leftovers!  You can do so much with it!  ( Recipe can be found in the "Mexican food recipes section").

Last night we had a pheasant feast so we could taste the birds the guys hunted for Christmas.  ( David, his dad Dave, and brother in law Mike go every year to bring home lots of birds and feathers)  We each made a different dish to taste.  David and I made Gordon Ramsay's recipe with thyme, bay leaf, and bacon (bacon was removed when it was done).  My sister in law Sarah made pheasant in Cherry filling sauce, and my mother in law Darlene made pheasant in mushroom cream sauce.  They were all delicious!

Pictures are in order: Sarah and David's recipe, Sarah's recipe, and Darlene's recipe :)

The holidays are my favorite times of year- Mostly because of the food!  This year for Thanksgiving, David and I made a delicious turkey dinner (Gordon Ramsay's recipe) with stuffing, potatoes, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, creamed corn, and rolls.  It was to die for!

For Christmas each year the girls in the family have a massive cookie bake while the boys go pheasant hunting.  This year we made everything bars, cookie dough bars, snicker doodles, Oreo truffles, jam cookies, mounds bars, chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies!  YUM!

This weekend we are talking about each family making a different dish of the pheasant to try.  Can't wait to see how it turns out!
